Don’t miss the December 15 open enrollment deadline for health insurance

Open enrollment for 2020 health care coverage is underway, and freelancers must make their plan selections by December 15 to lock in coverage for next year. If you miss the deadline, you won’t be able to enroll unless you have a “qualifying life event” such as getting married or having a baby. Open enrollment  is also your chance to make any modifications to your existing coverage.

So no matter what is on your plate, put choosing a healthcare plan at the top of your to-do list.

Where you buy insurance matters

Here at Freelancers Union, we handpick plans that offer the same coverage and subsidies that you can access through health exchanges.

But when you buy health, dental, liability, disability, term life, or accident & illness insurance through Freelancers Union, your premiums support our advocacy work on behalf of the nation's 57 million freelancers — at no additional cost to you. That includes fighting for improved healthcare options, as well as legal protections such as the Freelance Isn't Free law.

As you shop plans, feel free to reach out to us with questions at membership@freelancersunion.org, or check out our step-by-step guide to choosing coverage.

We’re experts, and we’ve got your back.
