Upwork released its quarterly skills index, and for the first time, virtual reality topped the list.

Hot on VR's heels are various forms of artificial intelligence, including natural language processing, neural networks, and machine learning.

Also a large share of the skills? Marketing, which accounted for 1/3 of the top 20.
