4K of you are about to have Brad as your Councilman.

One of the candidates we were most active in promoting this past election is incoming councilman Brad Lander (D-39th).Running for a council seat that takes in Windsor Terrace, Park Slope, Carroll Gardens, Kensington, and Boro Park, Brad has over 4,000 members of Freelancers Union that will soon be his constituents. One of the reasons we got behind Brad so enthusiastically was his early support for the repeal of the UBT (Unincorporated Business Tax) which helped provide over $25 million in tax cuts to our members. Not only did Brad testify in support of the repeal, he helped organize hundreds of his supporters, many who were not freelancers themselves, to push for tax fairness as well. City Hall, a local publication focused on city government, put up a great article that highlighted Brad and the work he’s gearing up to start when he’s sworn in this January. We can’t wait to get to work with Brad and our other endorsed candidates as we seek to make New York City more freelancer friendly.
