NY State Senator Martin Connor meets with freelancers

On Tuesday, August 26, New York State Senator Martin Connor met with members of Freelancers Union to talk about issues important to our group. Senator Connor has been an independent worker himself, maintaining a part-time law practice for many years, and shared stories of his own about dealing with the complex tax laws that New York freelancers must obey.

Senator Connor represents the 25th district, which includes the Lower East Side, South Brooklyn, and DUMBO--areas that have seen a lot of changes in the years he's represented them. Senator Connor spent time answering individual freelancers' questions on Tuesday night, and many of the attendees came from the neighborhoods he represents.
