We've just learned of Handmade Nation, a film (currently in post-production) that documents "the rise of DIY art, craft, and design." The filmmaker, Faythe Levine, has a blog about the production process, as well as about developments in the world of handmade goods--including a listing of upcoming craft fairs nationwide. If you're interested in learning more about this project, there's a sneak preview/extended trailer for the film available on YouTube. Also, Levine is continuing to raise money for the completion of the documentary by holding monthly rafflies for handmade goods. You can support her work by buying raffle tickets on the blog.
