In addition to dental insurance from Guardian, we’re now offering a dental discount program from Aetna in all 50 states. Unlike the Guardian plan, you don’t have to prove eligibility for the Aetna discount card. The “Vital Savings by Aetnaâ€? discount card costs $3 a month for an individual and $6 a month for a couple or family. It confers discounts on dental care, vision, gyms, massage therapy, and other health-related services. You can find out which providers in your area participate on the Vital Savings by Aetna website. There's no standard pricing structure, so check with the dentist you choose to find out what the Vital Savings discounts are on specific procedures (they generally range from 15% to 50%). Just like our other discounts, information about how to access the program is available on our discounts page when you sign in to the website. For our members who used the Careington dental discount through their old HIP insurance plans, the Aetna discount is a comparable option. We’re doing it this way because the per-member cost is lower than it would have been to bundle a discount with the new Empire insurance plans.
