Resources on health care in '08

It's almost a kind of universal truth: freelancers are concerned about health care. For many of our members, candidates' postions on this issue will be a key factor when they vote next year. (And, by the way, 90% of our members report having voted in the last national election.) If you're trying to keep track of the latest developments, a great place to start is the Kaiser Foundation's Health '08 website. They've compiled info on all the candidates' proposals and positions. Also, check out the experts' latest thoughts on the employer-sponsored health care system. They say it's not going away any time soon. Fine with us--but let's not keep employers as the only means of delivering health care to consumers. With the increase in health costs for employers projected to be 8.7% next year, many will probably be cutting back on their benefits.
