A new program in NYC, called Smart Experience, offers industry-specific education and training for people in the internet, mobile, and software fields. What's interesting about this is that instead of just programming a series of seminars and then recruiting educators, Smart Experience relies on its users: people request the classes they'd like to take, and they also suggest classes they'd like to teach. We think this could be a great resource for freelancers, since we always hear about the challenges of keeping up-to-date in one's field without an employer that requires or pays for education.
