Advocacy Updates from the Freelancers Union

On the heels of Independence Day (or as we call it at the Freelancers Union, “Indepedents Day”) I wanted to give an update on our ongoing efforts to support freelancers like you. At the Freelancers Union, we remain committed to your success by expanding our free legal and financial consultation programs, advocating for affordable and accessible health insurance access, and expanding the safety net for our members in an ever-changing economy.

Our mission is simple: to provide the support you need so you can focus on what truly matters – your craft and entrepreneurship.

In this critical election year, we face unprecedented challenges like:

● AI's growing impact on creative and entrepreneurial work
● Inflation's lingering effects on small business owners
● The need for expanded legislation to protect freelancers' rights at state and federal levels

While several cities and states are making progress in safeguarding freelancers' rights, there's still much work to be done. The passage of the Freelance isn’t Free Act by the States of New York and Illinois are evidence of our work together. We're pushing hard to extend this legislation nationwide to protect individuals like yourself.

To continue this vital work, we need your support. Your investment will help build a stronger foundation for all freelancers and pave the way for a more secure future.

Your contribution goes beyond supporting a union - it's an investment in a community that values your well-being and long-term success. Another way to support our organization is to buy our exclusive merch. From warm hoodies to tote bags, every purchase of Union-made merch supports our mission of empowering freelancers and advocating for fair working conditions.

Together, we can create a brighter future for freelancers everywhere. Thank you for considering this opportunity to make a difference.
