New monthly drop-in support group for caregivers in NYC
Are you caring for a sick, challenged or elderly loved one? If so, you’ve probably felt overwhelmed or confused at some point. If you are struggling with seeing your loved one decline, you’re not alone. That’s why we are hosting a monthly drop-in support group for caregivers across New York City.
On the second Wednesday of every month, Brooklyn CPC (Collective Primary Care) will host a group that addresses the emotional and logistical aspects of caring for a sick, elderly or challenged loved one. Meetings will take place at 408 Jay Street, 4th Floor in Brooklyn, NY 11201, from 6 - 7 pm.
RSVP for our next meeting on June 10th
Topics will include, but are not limited to:
· Time management
· End of life issues
· Navigating the healthcare system
· Establishing home care, assisted living and/or nursing home care
· Advocating for your loved one
· The “sandwich generation”
· Burnout and self-care
· Talking to children about death and dying
Meetings are open to everyone that identifies as a caregiver, including those that care for an ill or challenged parent, child or spouse. Both members and non-members are welcome. We look forward to seeing you there at our upcoming meetings on June 10th, and July 8th.
