Hives: A community for the new workforce

For years, freelancers have been telling me that they need an online hub to network with each other, share ideas, ask for advice, and find potential collaborators.

Today, I’m thrilled to announce a new platform that will allow you to do all of that and more.

Welcome to Hives, the online community for the new workforce.

Networks are crucial to a successful freelance life, so we wanted to build a place for independent workers to come together to connect with one another online.

Consider it your one-stop online freelance network.

Not sure what to charge for a gig? There’s a hive for that.

Interested in sharing your creative inspiration? There’s a hive for that.

Want to discuss the future of the economy with the people shaping it? There’s a hive for that.

But remember, Hives was your idea, so it’s yours to build.

Maybe there’s something else that you’d like to talk about. Maybe you want to connect with freelancers in your city -- or find a solutions to common issues, like getting paid or doing your taxes. So, start a Hive and get the conversation going.

This is a place for independent workers from across the country can come together to build the future economy. It’s a place for inspiring conversations, sharing creative ideas, and working together for the benefit of all. It’s about achieving meaningful independence.

Simply, “We’re doers. We’re believers. We’re builders.”

Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve had a few of our friends on Hives kicking the tires. We heard their ideas and made some adjustments. But the future of Hives depends on you, so we’d love to hear what you have to say. Have any suggestions? Join our Hive about Hives and let us know. We’d love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks in advance for joining. I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for Hives.

Oh...and if you were thinking about making a clever joke about the name, Portland-based journalist Bill Lascher already beat you to the punch.
