The cynic says, "If it bleeds, it leads." The idealist says, "Nothing makes a point like a good story." How wonderful, then, that just as the health care reform legislation comes under attack all over again (anyone else experiencing mildly traumatic flashbacks?), writer and performer Anna Deavere Smith is taking the stage to tell us a few (dozen) stories about health care in our country. Her one-woman show based on a year of interviewing people about their experiences with healthcare is called Let Me Down Easy and is in Washington DC until mid-February. Check out more of the show (clips and an interview) from her appearance on NPR's Tell Me More last night. Then let me know if you think maybe we should pool our resources and buy some tickets for our elected representatives?
