Political Power for Freelancers? It's So On.

We did it. At the beginning of December, we challenged members to help us reach our year-end goal of putting $20,000 in the Freelancers Union Political Action Committee (click to learn what our PAC is all about), and members hit this one out of the park! With that power on our sides, we'll hit the ground running to take our Freelancer Payment Protection Act (a.k.a. Deadbeat Client Bill) across the finish line in 2011. But it hasn't just been a year of building power through dollars. We've seen unprecedented involvement from freelancers this year, from interviewing political candidates to hitting the phones and canvassing, and talking to journalists about our issues. Not to mention our new monthly member meetings in Brooklyn! Until January, happy holidays freelancers! See you in 2011. Here's wishing you some relaxing times, and lots of gigs. (And if you were still hoping to get your "This Is The Boss's Umbrella" for a $50 contribution, you've still got until the 31st!)
