Number of uninsured rises

A new report from the Centers for Disease Control shows that the number of uninsured adults increased 6% last year, by 2 million. According to the New York Times, "Almost all the increase was in the non-elderly adult population -- a trend attributed to diminishing employer coverage and pricier private insurance." While the overall number of uninsured Americans stayed about the same, that was because there's been an increase in coverage for children--which is great. As campaign season continues to heat up, though, we'd like to see what candidates think can be done for adults who can't get coverage through their jobs. Will we see truly innovative proposals?
