Freelancers Union in The Economist

Welcome, readers of The Economist! We were excited to be featured in last week's issue, especially because the piece focuses on labor and unionism. As the article states, Freelancers Union founder Sara Horowitz realized that unions had to change in order to fit the way people work now: "She concluded that a union is a means for workers to join together to solve problems. To be effective it needs an economic model that makes it independent of government, employers and other institutions." And here we are. You can read more about New Unionism in Sara's blog entry at Sharing Witness.
