What the State of Freelancing in the U.S. Means for the Future of Work

Following the release of the Freelancing in America 2015 report, our founder Sara Horowitz shares her perspective on this year’s findings in Fast Company.

She highlights three major takeaways from the study including: the continued growth of the freelance workforce; how more and more workers are going freelance by choice; and that freelancing pays – often times more than a traditional 9-to-5.

But the independent workforce still faces many difficulties and, despite the fact that freelancers occupy a large voting segment, no one is stepping forward to help put a safety net in place.
