Following cyber attack, eBay urges all users to change passwords

This morning it was announced that eBay, the popular online marketplace, has experienced a security breach.

In an official statement, the site urged all users to change their eBay account passwords, as well as their passwords for any other online accounts that used the same password.

Though eBay stated that no financial data were stolen, customer names, email addresses, physical addresses, phone numbers, encrypted passwords, and dates of birth were.

Regarding PayPal, eBay stated that PayPal data is stored separately on a secured network, and there is no evidence of any unauthorized access or compromises to any personal or financial information contained therein.

So, eBay users, don’t forget to change your password!
