FREELANCERS UNION BLOG

Free October Events for Freelancers Union Members

Your mission, if you accept it: make October freelance friendlier.

This month, we’re putting the life in work-life balance by offering free wellness classes in Brooklyn that are open to all members.

Here are a few things you should know:

  • All of the events are completely free (yes, really) and will be held at 408 Jay Street in Downtown Brooklyn.

  • You’re welcome to attend as many events as you want.

  • This is just the beginning. We plan to host free, members-only classes every month at 408 Jay.

So what’s the catch? There isn’t one! We just want to make the quest for mind/body healthiness easier by designing wellness classes just for our members. Freelancers Union is truly focused on improving freelancers’ lives, and that extends from your workspace to the yoga mat.

And speaking of the yoga mat, here’s the roster of our October classes:

Slow Flow Yoga – It’s important for busy freelancers to stay both healthy and centered. At Slow Flow Yoga, you can build strength and flexibility at a pace that’s designed to empower you while enhancing your practice.

Beginning Mindfulness Meditation – Ready, set, relaxation. The best way to unwind is to meditate with people who actually understand your career. This session includes a 30-minute seated or walking practice, followed by a brief check-in and discussion.

Stress-Busting Tai Chi – Come to tai chi and kiss stress goodbye! This mind-body practice is referred to as “moving meditation” – practitioners move their bodies slowly, gently, and with awareness, while breathing deeply.

**P.S. **Nothing's better for you than having fun and meeting new people. Join us for Mix It Up: Speed Networking for Freelancers on October 8 at 408 Jay Street. It's part of our new Freelance 360 event series (Please note: this event has a $15 entry fee).
