WashTech on skilled-worker visas

WashTech is a labor organization representing technology workers. Though they're based in Washington State, and originally formed as a coalition of contract workers for Microsoft, they now take action on national issues, too. Right now, they're campaigning to raise policymakers' awareness around issues of work visas. Briefly, WashTech wants to limit the number of H-1B visas issued to skilled workers from other countries. This type of visa, it has been argued, opens the door to outsourcing technology jobs overseas. To learn more about this issue and the WashTech campaign, visit their website.
